Why this room is hard

Kwame in DC. The hardest seat at the Salamander.

Kwame Onwuachi's Afro-Caribbean dining room inside the Salamander on the Southwest Waterfront landed on nearly every list that matters at once, Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America, Condé Nast Traveler's and Bon Appétit's best of 2025, and the top of Yelp's new-restaurant ranking. The book only opens twenty-eight days out, and Friday and Saturday seats are gone almost the moment they appear. Demand from a national audience now competes for a room built on a single chef's name.

It is not a reservation system. It is a guest list. We hold standing relationships with the room and watch the cancellations and release windows the public never sees. When a weekend table opens, your name is already where the host stand looks first.

Kwame in DC. Same Resy. Different city.

Questions

Dōgon, the FAQ.

How do I get a reservation at Dōgon?

Name Dōgon and the night you want. We book it on your account the instant a table opens or a cancellation appears, and you only pay if we actually get it.

Why is Dōgon so hard to book?

Dōgon is one of the most in-demand tables in Southwest Waterfront. Prime-time seats are claimed within seconds of release, and many never reach the public at all, so refreshing on your own rarely works.

When do Dōgon reservations open up?

Dōgon releases tables on a set schedule, and seats also reappear when other guests cancel. We watch both around the clock and move the instant one opens, so you never have to refresh at midnight.

How much does it cost to book Dōgon through The Elusive List?

One flat fee, charged only when we confirm your table. No table, no charge. Sign in to see the exact fee for Dōgon.

What to expect

Five steps, start to seated.

01

Tell us the night, the time window, the party size. Two minutes on this page. Card on file, not charged.

02

We confirm the request.

An operator reviews the request, checks the room, and sends a confirmation that we are working it. Usually within thirty minutes.

03

We work the room.

We reach the floor manager directly, by phone or by text, depending on the night. We make the call.

04

You are confirmed.

We charge the card and send your confirmation — the time and the name to give the host.

05

You eat.

Walk into Dōgon, give your name at the host stand, sit down. The room takes it from there. We do not see you again until the next request.
